Pocket rocket. Originally developed for my buddy Aidan Parsons, these things have become really tried and true travel weapons and beach/reef animals. Ample outline width forward vs a traditional shortboard, these can be ridden a touch shorter than your performance chip - the rear end of them fit tight into the pocket though to keep you slotted.
In my mind, for the adventurous shortboard crew, this should be a quiver staple for Mentawais, Indo, Central America and Puerto Rico - quick drops, deep tubes all the way through playful beachbreaks.
