The 'Pedestrian Ship' was born for the 2024 STAB magazine Electric Acid Surfboard Test with Dave Rastovich. I was thrilled to be invited to participate again, and when I found out Dave was this year’s surfer, I put on my thinking cap (though it might have malfunctioned a bit!) This board was the result, and to my surprise, Mr. Rasta chose it as the winner. I can’t even put into words what it means to win this year’s test, especially since Dave has been such a huge influence on my work for nearly 20 years. I flew to Australia the week of the premiere, where I 3D-scanned Rasta's board in person to replicate it for you all here.
Pre-orders are open now, with options for multiple constructions including the Acid Test spec. with Flax & EPS, as well as everything in between.

This shape is a mix of thirds to me: 1/3 things I've known, 1/3 things I thought Rasta would prefer, and 1/3 total experimentation.
She's a rather sleek fish, with a reletively small swallowtail - a balanced hybrid performance fish, based on some older curves of mine & updated for this project.
It’s low, flowing rocker is designed to provide planing speed, but the complex bottom shape takes that into a different dimension, offering multiple rocker lines nose to tail: the rail rocker delivers a smooth, continuous line for power and flow in turns, while a distinct kink and release behind the fin, caused by the channel exit, adds some release and punch. Meanwhile, the center-line rocker is lower in the front for maintaining paddle speed, transitioning into an accelerating curve in the back for dynamic roll and looseness underfoot.
Flanking the channel is a wide, flat plane for a responsive, skating feel, while the narrow central vee under your back foot adds control. It’s a radical blend of opposing design philosophies, giving you speed, power, and versatility all in one board.

Sizing
I've decided the switch up the scaling for this model - in an effort to expand and contract the exact same board for different weight-class humans, instead of each size being a different variation, I've scaled it inch by inch via Shaped 3D between 5'8" and 6'3" to try to duplicate the EXACT board on a sliding scale.
Available sizes are:
-5'7 x 18 3/16 x 2 3/8 (25.6L)
-5'8 x 18 9/16 x 2 7/16 (27.13L)
-5'9 x 18 13/16 x 2 7/16 (28.03L)
-5'10 x 19 x 2 1/2 (29.19L) - RASTA'S
-5'11 x 19 1/4 x 2 1/2 (30.36L)
-6' x 19 7/16" x 2 9/16 (31.33L)
-6'1 x 19 11/16 x 2 9/16 (32.44L)
-6'2 x 19 7/8 x 2 9/16 (33.58L)
-6'3 x 20 1/8 x 2 5'8 (34.75L)
-6'4 x 20 5/8 x 2 11/16 (37.3L)
